Chibi (ちび or チビ) is a Japanese slang word describing something short. And in manga it refers to a style of drawing that features highly exaggerated childlike proportions, with large heads and short bodies. The style is often used in anime to emphasize changes in mood or call attention to the punchline of a joke.
